Tahu and Kopaka by Lalam24 Tahu and Kopaka by Lalam24
Both revamps of Kopaka and Tahu. Shows the differences in the armor. Some of the body was editted to help support the size of the mask on Kopaka.

Yes, I did cheat, I trimmed down some pieces to create pieces which Lego could've easily distributed, but didn't because I assume it was inpractical. Also, do not ask for instructions, I'm not providing them. I'm providing a parts list for Tahu alone, and that'll be in a journal.

Be sure to check out the new Tahu! Bionicle - Tahu Re-Revamp

The old one is in a journal.  The new one, which I posted more recently, will have an instruction LDD guide setup in accouple of weeks.  However, there are a lot of pieces that not only require being modified, but burnished and finished down in order to work right.

That's actually really cool. I never would have thought of remaking their bodies from smaller parts.

any particular reason Tahu has a distinct hand and wrist while Kopaka'a arm just ends in his sword?

While the arm itself was the same, the larger amount of attire on Kopaka lead me to believe it'd be more proportionate for Tahu to have more leeway with his actual hand holding the sword, as opposed to his hand being the sword.

Question, on the black ball on the chest...did you drill through one or is there a part already like that?

No, it's a piece that has a socket going through, it's listed in the parts list for both of them.

Okay, I thought so.

This really doesn't look all that complicated to make either. Except for the body...Other than that, I can easily see how you did it. Although how you got the head on eludes me mostly because I can't see the joint...

of aaaaaaall the other revamps, yours are by far my faves, instead of going all bulky big and strong like the rest, you went simple, compact and swift but still being able to look intimidating, my congratulations to you :) and i hope we will see more revamps like there in the future

I unfortunately don't have the pieces I need and my parents don't like buying individual pieces from Bricklink. The only part that I haven't quite put together in my head is the neck, but I'll have to save up for sets with those parts if I want to try my hand at it.

I like the attitude you put into these guys. Normally I'm completely against toa-mods or heavy modification to pieces, but these are an exception for me. Also your picture quality is amazing.

I cut and sanded down some technic levers for the crotch/torso on Kopaka. In the Tahu description I stated that I also cut down some pins/axis pieces.

They're even more amazing side by side! I think... I'm gonna go hunting for all my Bionicles and start playing with them again O_o The only thing of Tahu I'm missing is his flame sword, because my cousin had given me him when he didn't want it anymore and I think part of the reason was because he lost a few pieces o.o
